Droplet Barrier Desk Story
I am the founder of a 50 person woodworking company in Rockford Illinois and learned of this effort 2 weeks ago through my MakerSpace in Madison Wisconsin. Faced with a shortage of PPE at her clinics, Dr. Alison Craig of Madison designed the Droplet Barrier Desk after seeing a news report showing a sophisticated phone booth looking testing station being used at Yangji Hospital in Seoul Korea.
Five employees at our company volunteered to return to work the next day and made 10 desks. We delivered 6 desks to a Group Health Cooperative in Madison last Wednesday and 2 desks to a hospital ER unit in Indiana last Saturday. Please contact us thought this website if you wish to learn more. We calculated our cost to be roughly $400 each on this first small production run.
